Tarik Saleh
Tarik Saleh, born in Stockholm 1972, has directed several award-winning creative documentaries – the latest being Gitmo. He is behind numerous animated shorts and is one of the founders of Atmo.
Right now he is completing the long-awaited animated feature Metropia.
Tarik Saleh started his carrier as a graffiti artist as a member of the internationally acclaimed All In One crew. His murals can still be spotted in suburbs west of Stockholm.
His work as an art director led him to start the documentary magazine Alive in Cairo, Egypt 1995. A few years later he published the legendary Swedish underground magazine Atlas.
In 2001 he co-directed Sacrificio – Who betrayed Che Guevara? together with Erik Gandini. The film questions the legends around the death of Che Guevara.
In 2003 he produced and wrote his second drama series for the Swedish Television, Dream Team. Dream Team is about the life and intrigues around a god-forsaken local TV-station.
He has developed several TV concepts for the Swedish Television. The latest, Världens modernaste land (together with Fredrik Lindström), was awarded as the best culture and current affairs program of 2007. In Sweden Tarik Saleh is well known as a TV-host, director and debater.
Tarik’s passion for animation drove him to form Atmo Animation. The group have written and produced over 30 short animation films.
