Metropia goes video-on-demand and makes its U.S. premiere at Tribeca
Tarik Saleh’s Metropia has been selected for the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival which takes place in New York between April 21 and May 2.
Metropia is one of last year’s Swedish films who were most in demand at foreign film festivals. After the festival premiere in Venice last autumn, it has been shown at no less than 31 film festivals, including Montreal, Warsaw, Lubeck, Stockholm, San Francisco and Dubai.
The Tribeca festival is now establishing itself as a distributor in the United States. Of twelve films they select to distribute to theatres and on the flourishing video-on-demand market, two are Swedish: Metropia and Måns Herngren’s Everything flows, which appeared on last year’s Tribeca Festival.
The potential audience is enormous - some 40 million homes will be able to watch these films via video-on-demand.
