BOY FROM HEAVEN PREMIERED WITH STANDING OVATIONS AT CANNES 2022
CANNES 2022. Tarik Saleh's new film Boy from Heaven with Tawfeek Barhom and Fares Fares in the key roles had its world premiere, with standing ovations, on May 20 at the Cannes Film Festival. At the award ceremony ending the main competition, the film’s screenplay, written by Tarik Saleh, was named Best Screenplay by the jury.
UPDATE. Boy from Heaven was named the official Swedish Oscars entry on September 22, 2022.
The story. Boy from heaven is a political thriller about the fisherman boy Adam (Tawfeek Barhom) who is thrown into a brutal power struggle between Egypt's religious and political elites.

SUCCESS. Tarik Saleh’s amazing film, The Nile Hilton Incident, was awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic at the Sundance Film Festival on January 28, 2017, followed by very positive reviews from leading film magazines. The film has received raving reviews from international critics and moviegoers alike – and has become a box office hit in France with more than 400.000 admissions.
At the 2018 Guldbagge (Swedish Academy Award), The Nile Hilton Incident was rewarded no more than five times – for Best film, Best Male Actor, Best Set Design, Best Sound and Best Costume.
